“She stole a life, now must pay with her heart”

Feyre, a 19 year old huntress, hunts down a wolf in the woods to feed her family and thinks nothing of it.Days later a beast covered in scars ย burst through her family’s home seeking retribution for the wolfs death .Free to roam but never leave the enchanted court of Tamlin the immortal fae, Feyre’s feeling’s toward the beast grows, but an ever darkening shadow looms over Tamlin’s life and puts his kingdom in jeopardy. Its up to Feyre and her alone, to break the spell and protect her heart from the most powerful faerie in the four realms.

This is an exquisite rendition on the classic fairytale of beauty and the beast. Sarah J Maas, has took a timeless beauty and moulded it into a dark, magical world that the children who grew up with the Disney version have come to love just as much. The reason I enjoyed this book as much as I have is that from the first page, Sarah’s writing had drawn me in, and kept me going. I fell in love with her characters, and the settings surrounding them, I felt empathy and sorrow alongside them and it is a rare thing indeed to feel such a connection as I have done. When I had bought my own copy of this book, I had never heard of Sarah or her previous success with throne of glass, so coming to this as a new fresh reader, I purchased purely on how pretty the cover was -we’ve all done it I know!.This is now one of my most favourite books, I’m a huge fan of the fantasy genre, but with me trying to read quicker, just to turn the page and find out what happened, that must show how enticing and thrilling the story is.

I cannot praise the first of the series enough.
